We are looking for
We are looking for an Infrastructure Architect who wants to help shape Region Norrbotten's technical landscape.
Requirements:
- Relevant higher education in IT, computer engineering, or equivalent experience deemed comparable.
- Deep expertise in server, network, and storage solutions.
- Experience with virtualization, container technology, and data center design.
- Good understanding of IT security, IAM, network segmentation, and access control.
- Ability to design solutions that are scalable, robust, and cost-effective.
- Experience collaborating with both technical specialists and business representatives.
You are fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written, hold a B driver's license, and have:
- Several years of experience working as an infrastructure architect, technical architect, or equivalent role.
- Experience in designing, operating, and developing IT infrastructure in larger or complex environments.
- Experience in developing designs, guidelines, and principles for infrastructure and IT architecture.
- Experience in identity management (IAM) and associated security solutions.
- Experience working closely with the business and translating technical needs into effective solutions.
It is advantageous if you have:
- Certifications in infrastructure, architecture, or cloud technology (e.g., TOGAF, ITIL, Microsoft, VMware, Cisco).
- Experience with cloud and hybrid environments (e.g., Azure, AWS, VMware Cloud).
- Knowledge of automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with tools like Ansible, Terraform, or PowerShell DSC.
- Experience with monitoring, log management, Zero Trust architecture, and security certification (ISO 27001).
- Experience in the public sector, region, or other operations with critical IT environments.
- Experience leading or participating in infrastructure projects at a strategic level.

This is what you will work with
As an Infrastructure Architect, you will play a central role in shaping and further developing Region Norrbotten's technical landscape – focusing on hybrid infrastructure where cloud services and data centers collaborate to create a secure, robust, and future-proof IT environment. You will work both strategically and tactically, contributing to ensuring that our infrastructure solutions meet high demands for availability, performance, and security.
Your main responsibilities:
- Develop and manage an overarching infrastructure strategy that supports the region's digital goals and IT roadmap.
- Design, document, and further develop infrastructure solutions within networks, servers, storage, IAM, and cloud.
- Contribute to the development of identity management (IAM) and security architecture as an integrated part of the infrastructure.
- Support the business with technical advice in projects, procurements, and management work.
- Collaborate with business areas, IT security, operations, and development to interpret and translate technical and business requirements into sustainable solutions.
- Identify, evaluate, and recommend new technologies, tools, and working methods that contribute to increased efficiency, sustainability, and innovation.
- Ensure that the infrastructure is secure, scalable, available, and cost-effective, in accordance with applicable security and quality requirements.

Information about the position
We offer a permanent full-time position with start date according to agreement, working hours are scheduled Monday - Friday. You will be employed in the position of Architect.
Selection and interviews are ongoing, and the position may be filled before the application deadline.
Region Norrbotten applies individual salary setting according to collective agreements.
